About the School:Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and supportive secondary school in Hammersmith and Fulham. The school has been rated 'Good' by Ofsted and is renowned for its inclusive and nurturing environment.

Role Overview:We are looking for a compassionate and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to work one-on-one with a KS3 student. The student is has autism, requiring specialized support to enhance their learning experience and personal development. This is a full-time, long-term position starting in September.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to an autistic student in KS3.
  • Implement and adapt learning activities to meet the student's individual needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Monitor and record the student's progress, providing feedback to relevant stakeholders.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with autism, particularly non-verbal.
  • Strong understanding of SEN best practices and strategies.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or a related field are highly desirable.
