Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Hackney. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Starting in September, this full-time role offers the potential for long-term engagement.

About the Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to children with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to adapt lessons and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting independence and confidence in students.
  • Support the social and emotional development of pupils, helping to manage any challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably within an SEN setting.
  • A proactive and compassionate approach with the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN and helping them to achieve their full potential.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, are desirable but not essential.
