About the Role:- Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
- Location: Tower Hamlets, East London
- Contract: Full-time, term-time only
- Start Date: September 2024 or ASAP
- Salary: Competitive, based on experience
- Provide 1:1 support and group assistance to children with SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Dyslexia, and other learning needs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of tailored Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging independence and confidence in students.
- Use various strategies and resources to adapt the curriculum to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers, parents, and SEN specialists.
- Work closely with other staff members to promote a positive, nurturing atmosphere in the classroom.
- Support pupils during transitions and unstructured times, such as playtime and lunch breaks.
- Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within a school setting.
- A strong understanding of SEN, particularly Autism and ADHD, with knowledge of effective support strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with children who have additional needs.
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable but not essential).
