SEN Teaching Assistant | Hammersmith, W6 | 90-105 | Full Time | Long Term-Perm | Sept 2024

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? LTF Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 student with ASD, who is non-verbal and working at a nursery level. The role will also involve assisting with emotional regulation and nappy changing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to the child, ensuring their safety, well-being, and comfort.
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioural strategies to suit the child's needs.
  • Assist with nappy changing and daily care, supporting the child in all areas of personal care.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that encourages emotional regulation and social interaction.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to monitor and report on the child's progress.
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to ensure they are accessible and engaging for the student.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with ASD, preferably in a 1:1 setting.
  • Understanding of strategies to support children with emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents effectively.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special needs (desirable).
