Job Advert: SEN Teaching Assistant - Islington
Tradewind are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Islington. This full-time position involves working 1:1 with a child who has Autism and is non-verbal, starting at the beginning of October.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to a child with Autism in a mainstream classroom.
- Assist the child in communicating through PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) cards.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure the child's individual needs are met.
- Adapt learning materials and activities to suit the child's communication and learning style.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with Autism, particularly non-verbal children.
- Familiarity with PECS and other communication systems is essential.
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work full-time starting in October.
