About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with children across various year groups, providing one-on-one support and small group interventions to help them reach their full potential. You will assist in developing tailored learning plans, manage classroom behaviour, and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment. Whether you are working full-time or part-time, your role will be crucial in supporting students with SEN, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and succeed in their educational journey.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support to children with SEN, including those with autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and tailored learning strategies.
  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and creating a nurturing, inclusive environment.
  • Help to manage classroom behaviour and promote positive social interactions.
  • Monitor and report on pupils' progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Work closely with the SENCo, teachers, and other staff to ensure that the specific needs of each child are met.
  • Adapt learning materials to suit the varying needs of pupils.


About You:

  • Experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (preferred but not essential).
  • Passion for supporting children's development and learning.
