A lovely 1 form entry primary school based in Kensington are looking for an SEN teaching assistant to support children within mainstream education with special needs. Due to the number of SEN pupils throughout the school, the headteacher is flexible on which year group you will work within. This primary school is located in Notting Hill meaning it has great local transport links.

This SEN teaching assistant position is full time and for the full academic year, with the possibility of school making you a permanent member of staff from September 2025. The hours will be 8:30am - 4pm, Monday - Friday, term time only. This school is also able to offer additional working days during the holidays as part of the tutoring club.

Your role as a SEN Teaching Assistant will be to support children with special needs within and outside of the classroom. You will be providing emotional, educational and behavioural support to the child in your care, whilst also helping the class teacher with general classroom learning and behaviour.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain a year's classroom experience prior to starting teacher training.

To be successful for this SEN teaching assistant role you will need to have a desire to help children with SEN excel within education, ideally you will have some experience supporting children with SEN or even close personal experience. You will need to be patient, caring and understanding whilst being able to work off your own initiative and set clear boundaries.
