SEN Teaching Assistant | Immediate Trials | Primary School | South East London

We are currently working in partnership with a prestigious SEN school located in Eltham, Greenwich South East London. The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team in a Primary School setting. This position is full-time (term-time only) and ASAP start.

  • Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Start: 22nd September 2024
  • Location: SE3, South London
  • Full-Time (Mondays-Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm)
  • Rates: £90 - £100 Per day,

Ideal Teaching Assistant:

  • Graduates who studied either Psychology, Criminology, Education Studies or Creative Arts are welcome to apply!
  • Has experience working with children and young people with special needs
  • Has personal interests in supporting children and young people with special needs
  • A positive, proactive, and patient individual who has a can-do attitude and is willing to learn
  • A team player and has great communication skills
  • Being able to build good working relationships with students and staff

Teaching Assistant's Main Responsibilities:

  • Supporting a high functioning year 5 with mild Autism(ASD)
  • Understanding behavioural problems associated with various SEND students
  • Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities, as well as monitoring and assessing children's achievement and progress
  • Actively involved in a wide range of activities, promoting the physical, cognitive, cultural, social, and emotional well-being of the pupils
  • Actively interacting with children through play-based and sensory-related activities
