SEN Teaching Assistant | Haringey, N15 | £90-£105 | Long-Term to Permanent | September 2024

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? LTF Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Haringey, N15. This role involves working 1:1 with a Year 1 child with ADHD, providing tailored support for their social, emotional, and academic development throughout the school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a Year 1 child with ADHD, ensuring their safety, engagement, and well-being.
  • Implement individual learning plans and behavioural strategies to meet the child's specific needs.
  • Support the child in developing social skills and emotional regulation through patient, consistent guidance.
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to monitor progress and adjust support strategies.
  • Create a structured and nurturing learning environment that fosters the child's growth and success.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with ADHD or behavioural needs is essential.
  • Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or a related field are desirable.
  • Strong understanding of ADHD and effective strategies for managing attention and behaviour challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
