Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant - Secondary School in Hackney

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a fulfilling new role? Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with a secondary school in Hackney to recruit a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to start immediately for the academic year.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dedicated team, supporting students with diverse Special Educational Needs. A strong work ethic and commitment to student development are key to this rewarding role, where you will help make a meaningful difference in students' lives.

About the Role: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your day will run from 8:15 am to 3:45 pm, Monday to Friday, term-time only. There may be occasional staff meetings after hours. You will work closely with the school's SEN coordinator and a team of skilled educators, providing support in both classroom settings and small group interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with a variety of Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Assisting with the implementation of individualised education plans
  • Working one-on-one and in small groups, helping students engage in lessons
  • Encouraging and motivating students to reach their full potential
  • Creating an inclusive learning environment through collaboration with the teaching team

Requirements:

  • A graduate degree or equivalent qualification is preferred
  • Some experience working with students or young people with SEN
