ASD Teaching Assistant | Walworth, SE17 | Temporary - Perm Contract | £95 - £105 Per day | Starting in September.

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled SEN/ASD Teaching Assistant with experience in SEN schools to join the team in a lovely primary school based in Southwark, SE17 The successful candidate will support students with high needs, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and are fully integrated into school life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support to students with high needs, both in the classroom and during other school activities.
  • Work closely with class teachers to plan and deliver tailored interventions and support strategies.
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adjust support based on student progress and needs.
  • Support students in developing social, communication, and life skills.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Encourage and promote a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children with high needs in an SEN school or similar setting.
  • A relevant qualification in special education or child development (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, NVQ Level 3 in Childcare).
  • Strong understanding of various learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and behavioural disorders.
  • Basic knowledge of first aid and safeguarding procedures (training will be provided).
