Are you a SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a new role in Tottenham, North London? Do you enjoy the challenge of supporting learners with SEN and helping them achieve?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced SEN TA to join a special secondary school in Tottenham, Haringey. You will be supporting in small classes of 11-16 year old learners. This is a full time, long-term role starting ASAP.

You must have experience working with children with Autism.

The School:

A successful co-educational maintained secondary special school based in Haringey in North London, providing 175 places for students, mainly from across the borough. Students hereexperience a wide range of learning challenges, from the highest functioning to the most complex, includinggeneral, moderate, complex, severe and profound and multiple learning difficulties. Approximately two-thirds of students here have a diagnosis of autism.

As SEN Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for the below:

  • Supporting students in small groups or 1 to 1
  • Ensuring health and safety at all times
  • Support behaviour by following the children's plans
  • Contributing to target setting
  • Working alongside the SENCO and other professionals in the support network
  • Communicating effectively with parents and carers

To join us and be successful in this role you will ideally need:

  • Knowledge of, or previous experience working with children with SEN/ASD
  • A patient and caring nature
  • Excellent communication skills
  • An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
  • Legal right to work in the UK
