Are you looking to work in a brand-new secondary school?

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant, who has experience working with pupils with SEMH, Autism or ADHD. This SEN Teaching Assistant role will be 1:1 with a hint of group support. As a SEN Teaching Assistant we require you to support the student both academically and behaviour challenges within a Secondary PRU setting. We would require you to have strong Autism experience as most of the students have mild SEN and are working at a high level. The key aspect of this role is cohering to the behaviour de-escalation methods and promoting positive reinforcement strategies. We want your work to make a positive impact to the schools reputation and success.

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • To model good practice.
  • Have a good use of initiative.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professional.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.

Requirement:

  • Must have relevant SEN Experience
  • Experience working within a primary classroom
  • Good behaviour management and organisational skills
  • SEN experience
  • You must hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a DBS through Remedy
