GSL Education London Branch are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our lively school in Islington. About the role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be essential in helping students with special educational needs by making sure they have a personalised and welcoming learning environment. You will work closely with the classroom teacher, adjusting lessons and giving individual support to help each student grow socially, emotionally, and academically.

Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Offer one-on-one and small group help to students with special educational needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Help create a classroom where every student feels included and supported.
  • Assist students in building their social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Keep track of student progress and share updates with teachers and parents.
  • Help with managing the classroom and providing support for behaviour issues.

Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with children who have special educational needs is preferred.
  • A patient, caring, and understanding attitude is important.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
  • A dedication to creating an inclusive learning environment is required.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education would be a bonus.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
