GSL Education London Branch are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a thriving school in Westminster. You will be supporting students with special educational needs, helping them achieve their full potential through tailored and compassionate care.


About the role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, ensuring they have access to a personalised and inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with the classroom teacher, adapting lessons and providing one-on-one support to foster the social, emotional, and academic development of each student.

Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to SEN students.
  • Work with teachers to create and follow Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Help create a classroom where every student feels included and supported.
  • Support students in developing social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support.

Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with children with SEN is preferred. 
  • A patient, caring, and empathetic approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education is a plus.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
