A secondary school in Waltham Forest, is seeking fora dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping students with special needs thrive academically, socially, and emotionally in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing in-class support to students with a range of special educational needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities
  • Assisting teachers in adapting lessons and resources to meet the needs of individual students
  • Supporting students in both one-to-one and small group settings, helping them engage with the curriculum
  • Encouraging the development of social skills and positive behaviour
  • Working closely with the SENCO and other staff to implement personalised education plans (IEPs) for each student
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents
Key Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable
  • A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to supporting students
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
