Our agency is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant school in Camden. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with experience or a strong interest in working with children with SEN. You will play a crucial role in supporting both the educational and personal development of students, creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Students: Work closely with SEN students to help them engage with the curriculum and achieve their personal and academic goals.
- Classroom Assistance: Collaborate with the class teacher to support lesson delivery, adapting materials to meet the unique needs of students.
- Individual and Group Work: Provide targeted support to individual students or small groups, focusing on learning, social skills, and emotional development.
- Behavioural Support: Assist with behaviour management strategies, fostering a safe and supportive classroom environment.
- Communication: Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and well-being.
Requirements:
- Experience with SEN: Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally within an educational setting.
- Education Background: Relevant qualifications in education, child development, or SEN are desirable.
- Strong Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Empathy and Patience: A caring approach with a commitment to helping each student thrive.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to the varying needs of the classroom and respond to challenges with positivity.
