SEN Teaching Assistant | Westminster, W9 | 90-105 | Long-Term to Permanent | November 2024

LTF Recruitment is searching for a calm and supportive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Year 5 classroom in Westminster, W9. This role involves working closely with two pupils who experience emotional fluctuations, requiring consistent, positive reinforcement and a steady presence to help them navigate their daily routines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to Year 5 pupils, focusing on two students who need extra emotional guidance.
  • Use a calm and confident approach to encourage positive behaviours, reinforcing emotional regulation.
  • Assist with academic tasks, helping students to stay engaged and focused on their work.
  • Implement and adapt individualised strategies to support emotional and social needs.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adjust approaches as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience in supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs.
  • A calm, positive demeanour with a strong presence, able to set clear boundaries.
  • Confidence in academic support, especially in core subjects.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect effectively with students and staff.
