This role is integral to supporting children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), particularly those with special educational needs (SEN). Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with SEN in the Reception class.

  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).

  • Support children with a range of SEN, including speech and language delays, autism, and developmental delays.

  • Assist in delivering engaging and sensory-focused activities tailored to the children's needs.

  • Foster a nurturing, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff and parents.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEN children, ideally within EYFS or early primary settings.

  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.

  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Relevant qualifications (such as NVQ/CACHE Level 2 in Childcare or SEN) are desirable but not essential.
