SEN Teaching Assistant 1:1 Support for Student with Severe Physical Disabilities
Location: Wandsworth, London
Contract: Full-time, Term-time Only (Immediate start until July 2025)
Salary: Ā£480 per week, paid pro-rata on a PAYE basis

Are you passionate about supporting students with physical disabilities and making a real difference in their education? We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a student who has severe physical disabilities at a mainstream primary school in Wandsworth. This is a rewarding role, offering the opportunity to have a direct and lasting impact on a child's learning journey.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support the student across all aspects of their school day, ensuring they can fully participate in classroom activities and access the curriculum with the necessary assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support for a student with severe physical disabilities, assisting with mobility and physical tasks throughout the school day
  • Support the student in accessing the curriculum, adapting lessons and resources to meet their specific needs
  • Assist with personal care and ensure the students safety and comfort while maintaining their dignity

What Were Looking For:
  • Experience working with children with physical disabilities is highly desirable, but not essential
  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students with additional needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Previous experience in a teaching assistant role or other support role is beneficial
  • Willingness to undergo training and development to meet the specific needs of the student
