Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a forward-thinking school in Haringey. This bespoke role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on students with varying needs, tailored to your strengths and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with specific SEN requirements, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SEN coordinators to deliver tailored learning strategies and interventions in line with Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, fostering independence and confidence in students.
  • Support students with both academic and social development, including emotional regulation and communication skills.
  • Assist with sensory needs, behavior management, and other individualized support as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN in a school setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a caring and empathetic nature.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and committed to meeting the unique needs of each student.
  • Knowledge of strategies and interventions for supporting SEN students, including the use of assistive technology and resources.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certificate or equivalent, are an advantage but not essential.
