About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with a range of additional learning needs within a mainstream secondary school setting. You will work alongside teachers to ensure that students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) have full access to the curriculum and the support they need to succeed.

You will be working with students who may have a variety of needs, including learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions, speech and language difficulties, and emotional and behavioral challenges. You will provide both individual and small group support, helping students build confidence, develop their social and academic skills, and reach their full potential.

Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a graduate with a background in Psychology, Special Educational Needs, or a related field, who has experience working with children or young people in a supportive capacity. If you have a passion for making a real difference in the lives of students with additional needs, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Key skills and experience include:

  • A degree in Psychology or similar, or relevant experience working with children and young people.
  • A passion for working with students with SEN, and an understanding of the challenges they face in a mainstream setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability to tailor your support to individual needs.
  • Experience working in an educational or social care environment is desirable, but not essential.
