We have an exciting opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our dedicated team at a welcoming SEN school in Newham, Plaistow!

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Newham, Plaistow, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieving their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. This is an excellent chance to create meaningful change within a nurturing and inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and adjusting support strategies as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to student development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and report to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.

Requirements of SEN Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Prior experience in a SEN role is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community.
  • Deep commitment to helping students with SEN.
  • Good command of English.
