Location: Earls Court

Milk Education are seeking talented, driven and passionate individuals to provide KS1 – KS4 students support on a 1:1 and whole class basis as a SEN Teaching Assistant.

Psychology graduates who are looking to support students with a primary diagnoses of Autism, whilst gaining opportunities for extended ABA training, this would be great role for you to start in. The school encourage experienced teaching assistants who are passionate about providing speech and language, as well as occupational therapy intervention support to also apply.

This school is made up of 2 sites, a primary setting in Earls Court and a secondary setting in Acton and thrives in securing a positive environment for all students with a nurturing approach.

SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • To work under the direct instruction of teaching/senior staff, in and out of the classroom to consistently support children with additional needs. Working with individuals, groups of children and classes.
  • Establish productive working and nurturing relationships with pupils, according to individuals needs acting as a role model and setting high expectations
  • Be a pro-active and solutions focused member of the team. Someone who will contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the school modelling a can-do approach.
  • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement, including in the moment feedback, coaching, marking and correcting misconceptions
  • Promote independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement and develop self-esteem.

SEN Teaching Assistant must haves:

  • Encouraged to apple if you have a recent psychology degree or psychology background
  • Evidence of successful experience supporting students with Autism and/or with learning disabilities
  • Confidence, enthusiasm and a passion for learning
  • Reliable work ethic and attention to detail
