Are you a compassionate and patient SEN Teaching Assistant looking to support a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? Reeson Education is offering an exciting opportunity to work 1:1 with a Key Stage 1 pupil in a welcoming primary school in Waltham Forest.
The Role:
- Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support).
- Salary: 80-100 per day, depending on experience.
- Start Date: Immediate.
- Location: Waltham Forest, East London.
This role is perfect for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping children with additional needs succeed in a mainstream classroom setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for a child with ASD, ensuring they feel safe and engaged in their learning.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies.
- Use visual aids, sensory techniques, and structured routines to support the pupil's development.
- Assist with social interactions and encourage positive behaviour.
- Monitor progress and communicate regularly with teachers and parents.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, working with children with ASD.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or other SEN strategies is beneficial but not essential.
