We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant join a Lewisham based Mainstream Primary school support primary aged pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. This role offers the opportunity to work in a nurturing and inclusive environment, making a significant impact on students' academic and emotional development.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized behaviour plans.
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum and developing social skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a positive learning environment.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being among students.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies.
  • Nurturing but authoritative nature 
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience.
  • Relevant qualifications in Education or Special Educational Needs (SEN) are desirable.
