We are looking for dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants who are looking for full-time work to start as soon as possible

Free CPD training and support from an experienced SEN Consultant

Successful applicants will have experience supporting students with additional needs either in mainstream or special needs settings, or have personal experience of SEN. Personal attributes of compassion, empathy, and resilience are essential for this role.

Information on the SEN Teaching Assistant role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be directed by the Class Teacher to support the children on a 1:1 or small group basis. You will work alongside other SEN Teaching Assistants so teamwork and communication are essential skills. Class sizes will be small, ranging from approximately 4-8 children. The day will focus on life skills as well as some appropriately targeted academic content. There will be additional therapies to meet the children's Education Health and Care Plans and you may be given instruction and asked to assist with the delivery of these. Some schools may ask you to assist with personal care.

SEN School needs include; Speech, Language and Communication needs, Autism, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Specific Learning Difficulties, Social Emotional Mental Health, Physical Disabilities, PRU settings.

Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Experience working with children or adults with SEN needs (desirable not essential)
  • Team player
  • Empathetic
  • Clear communicator
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS or willing to obtain one
