The Role:
- Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support).
- Salary: £80-£100 per day, depending on experience.
- Location: Waltham Forest, East London.
- Start Date: Immediate.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a Key Stage 1 pupil with ASD, providing tailored support to help them engage with learning and develop their communication and social skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual support to a pupil, ensuring they feel safe and included in the classroom.
- Use structured learning strategies, visual aids, and sensory techniques to engage the pupil.
- Assist with behaviour management, promoting positive interactions and emotional regulation.
- Work closely with the SENCO and class teacher to implement personalised learning plans.
- Monitor progress and adapt support strategies as needed.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or similar role.
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children with ASD or other SEN needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A passion for working with children and a commitment to inclusive education.
- Experience with PECS, Makaton, or other SEN strategies is beneficial but not essential.
