SEN Teaching Assistant | 1:1 Support | £80-£100 Per Day | Waltham Forest, East London

The Role:

  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support).
  • Salary: £80-£100 per day, depending on experience.
  • Location: Waltham Forest, East London.
  • Start Date: Immediate.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a Key Stage 1 pupil with ASD, providing tailored support to help them engage with learning and develop their communication and social skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual support to a pupil, ensuring they feel safe and included in the classroom.
  • Use structured learning strategies, visual aids, and sensory techniques to engage the pupil.
  • Assist with behaviour management, promoting positive interactions and emotional regulation.
  • Work closely with the SENCO and class teacher to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Monitor progress and adapt support strategies as needed.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or similar role.
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children with ASD or other SEN needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A passion for working with children and a commitment to inclusive education.
  • Experience with PECS, Makaton, or other SEN strategies is beneficial but not essential.
