A lovely primary school in Hackney are looking for an experienced SEN teaching assistant to support children with SEN on a full-time basis from April.  

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant your role will be to provide 1 to 1 support throughout the school for various children across key stage one.

Your week will be split with 3 days based in classrooms and 2 days based in the nurture hub. The students you will be supporting will have a range of needs including autism, ADHD, SEMH needs and will all be based in KS1.  

Within classrooms you will be supporting students in KS1 to access learning activities, work alongside their peers and integrate within the classroom and whole school.

The nurture hub is a specialist space for children who require time out from the classroom due to their additional needs. Students in the hub will require support to regulate their emotions, take time to catch up on learning or activities they were unable to access in the classroom setting.

The school is looking for SEN Teaching Assistants who:

  • Have prior experience supporting children with SEN.
  • Possess a genuine passion for working with children with additional needs.
  • Are patient, empathetic, and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Are enthusiastic about contributing to a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

The school are looking for a confident and experienced SEN Teaching assistant to join them on a full-time basis.
