About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-on-one support for a child in Reception and Year 1 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of behaviour management, sensory processing needs, communication challenges, and social-emotional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer tailored support to help the child engage in learning and structured activities.
  • Implement behaviour strategies to promote positive interactions and emotional regulation.
  • Use visual aids, social stories, and other ASD-friendly methods to enhance communication.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt lessons and follow the child's EHCP (Education, Health & Care Plan).
  • Encourage independence and social skills through structured play and reinforcement techniques.
