Academics LTD are currently working with this excellent Primary school in based in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham to recruit a Teaching Assistant to join their team. The role will be to work with a child in Key Stage 1 who has Down syndrome. This role would suit a candidates that has experience working with children inside or outside school. You will need a Level 3 childcare or education qualification or hold a Degree in any subject with an interest in starting a career in education. This role would be perfect for a person who is looking for in school experience prior to going to teacher or educational psychologist training in the future.

The role will be working on a one to one basis supporting the child in class so she can access the curriculum. As a Teaching Assistant you will also be required to work alongside the class teacher help out in class, preparing the classroom and work alongside visiting therapist who support the Childs long term development. The role would suit a teaching assistant who has a calm, caring approach to working with children. You will need to be patient and have excellent communication skills.
