You will be working closely with children in Key Stage 2, providing tailored support both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with autism and ADHD in Key Stage 2.
  • Assist in the delivery of learning materials, ensuring the children can access and engage with the curriculum.
  • Adapt teaching materials to suit the individual learning needs of the children.
  • Support the children with social and emotional development, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and plan effective interventions.
  • Promote positive behaviour and provide guidance where needed.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children with autism and ADHD is highly desirable.
  • A passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication skills, both with children and adults.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) or a strong background in supporting children in an educational setting.
  • Experience with KS2 children is advantageous.
