About the Role

Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic secondary school in Waltham Forest. This role involves providing one-on-one support and small group instruction to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, particularly those with ASD and Speech, Language, and Communication Needs.

Working closely with the school's SENCO and teaching staff, you will implement effective behaviour management strategies, contribute to lesson planning, and assist with progress monitoring to ensure each student's development is tracked and supported. Your role will be pivotal in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored one-on-one support and small group instruction to students with SEN.
  • Implement and support behaviour management techniques to maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.
  • Conduct progress monitoring, recording and reporting on student achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to develop and implement individualised support plans.

  • Strong understanding of behaviour management and inclusive education practices.
