SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Islington, London

LTF Recruitment is looking for an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Islington, London.

This rewarding role involves working with students who require additional support due to SEN, offering 1:1 assistance and small group support. You will collaborate with teachers and the SENCo to ensure students are fully engaged and progressing academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support and small group assistance to students with SEN
  • Work closely with teachers to implement personalised learning plans tailored to individual student needs
  • Support students' academic, social, and emotional development
  • Help manage behaviour in the classroom and foster a positive learning environment
  • Monitor student progress and report to the SENCo and teaching staff
  • Assist with the delivery of lessons, ensuring all students are fully supported

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience working with students with SEN, particularly in a secondary school setting
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting students with diverse needs
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to the overall development of the students

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience supporting students with ASD, ADHD, or other learning difficulties
  • Understanding of SEN strategies and approaches

Additional Information:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Paid £95 - £105 per day, term time only
  • Based in Islington, London - excellent transport links
