A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Camden. We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated individual to support children with special educational needs (SEN) across different year groups, ensuring they receive the tailored help they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to children with a variety of special educational needs (SEN), including autism (ASD), ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering differentiated lessons that meet the needs of SEN pupils.
  • Help implement and follow Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans.
  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges, promoting inclusion and positive interactions.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO, class teachers, and other professionals to monitor pupil progress and well-being.
  • Provide feedback to teachers and parents on pupils' progress, offering suggestions for further support where needed.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within a primary school setting and with SEN pupils.
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • A passion for supporting children with additional needs, demonstrating patience, empathy, and creativity.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to the individual needs of each child.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
