About the Role:

A vibrant primary school in Hackney is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 2 students with challenging behaviour. This role is ideal for someone who can create a safe and inclusive environment, working closely with students and staff to foster positive learning experiences. You will play a crucial role in supporting students with additional needs, helping them stay engaged and feel supported throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and group support to KS2 students, particularly those displaying challenging behaviours.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and support staff to implement effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Assist with lesson preparation and classroom activities to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Encourage resilience, patience, and positive interactions among students.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, especially in managing challenging behaviour.
  • Familiarity with behaviour management strategies and a calm, adaptable approach to handling challenges.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with students.
