A secondary school in Waltham Forest, is seeking fora dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping students with special needs thrive academically, socially, and emotionally in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Providing in-class support to students with a range of special educational needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities
- Assisting teachers in adapting lessons and resources to meet the needs of individual students
- Supporting students in both one-to-one and small group settings, helping them engage with the curriculum
- Encouraging the development of social skills and positive behaviour
- Working closely with the SENCO and other staff to implement personalised education plans (IEPs) for each student
- Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable
- A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to supporting students
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed
