Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) 
Location: Lambeth, London
Age Group: 11-19 years
Hours : 8:30 to 3:30 pm
Salary: £85 to £90 per daye PAYE

About the School:
We are a dedicated SEN school in Lambeth, providing specialist education for students aged 11-19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), and other complex needs

The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing support to students with a wide range of needs. Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students in both group and 1:1 settings, adapting to their individual learning requirements
  • Assisting with personal care, including hygiene, feeding, and mobility support
  • Using specialized communication tools (e.g., Makaton, PECS) and sensory resources to enhance engagement
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families to monitor and support each student’s progress and development
  • Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with ASD, complex needs, or PMLD
  • Compassionate, patient, and proactive approach, with a commitment to providing high-quality care and support
  • Experience with personal care tasks and/or relevant training
  • Understanding of communication techniques like Makaton or PECS is beneficial
