SEN Teaching Assistant - Autism Resource Provision (ARP)

Are you passionate about supporting children with autism and making a meaningful difference in their educational journey? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Good-rated primary school in Barking and Dagenham, working within their Autism Resource Provision (ARP).



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to children with autism in the ARP and, where appropriate, within mainstream classrooms.
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies tailored to each child's needs.
  • Support students' academic progress and social development using creative and structured methods.
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff to adapt lessons and activities for all learners.
  • Foster an inclusive, nurturing, and supportive environment for students.
  • Monitor and report on student progress to inform ongoing support strategies.


What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children with autism or other special educational needs, ideally in a school setting.
  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to helping children overcome challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
