PAY: £90 - £110 per day

We are seeking a motivated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 student with Autism on a 1:1 basis at our mainstream primary school in Camden with an outstanding ofsted rating. This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate individual to make a real difference in the life of a young learner by providing tailored support to help them thrive in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 student with Autism, ensuring their learning needs are met
  • Assist in the delivery of differentiated lessons and activities that are adapted to the student’s individual needs
  • Support the student with social and emotional development, using appropriate strategies to promote inclusion and engagement
  • Monitor and record the student’s progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other strategies
  • Promote positive behaviour and help the student develop social skills and self-regulation

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experience supporting children with special educational needs, particularly those with ASD
  • An understanding of strategies and approaches to supporting children with Autism, including social skills development and emotional regulation
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Experience working with children in Key Stage 1 (Year 2)
  • Knowledge of specific interventions or programmes that support children with Autism. 
  • A passion for working in special educational needs and supporting diverse learners
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential
