The Role:- Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support).
- Salary: £80-£100 per day, based on experience.
- Location: Waltham Forest, East London.
- Start Date: Immediate.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a Key Stage 1 pupil with ASD, providing the structured support they need to feel engaged, confident, and successful in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide 1:1 support, adapting learning materials to meet the pupil's needs.
- Implement individual learning plans designed by the SENCO and class teacher.
- Use visual aids, sensory techniques, and structured routines to help maintain focus and engagement.
- Encourage social interaction and build the pupil's confidence in group activities.
- Monitor progress and communicate with staff and parents about the pupil's development.
- Experience working with ASD, ADHD, or other SEN needs in a school setting.
- A patient, positive, and resilient approach to supporting children.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or sensory strategies is a bonus but not essential.
