GSL Education are seeking a passionate, patient, and hardworking SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team in Westminster. The role will involve supporting students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Role Overview: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have MLD, ADD, and ADHD, providing tailored support to help them engage in their learning and develop their social skills. You will assist teachers in creating a positive, structured environment that fosters both academic success and personal development.Responsibilities of the SEN TA:
- Deliver bespoke support to students with SEMH, ASD, and ADHD, both one-on-one and in small groups.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to design and implement personalised learning activities.
- Create a positive, inspiring classroom atmosphere that fosters emotional growth and academic success.
- Support students in developing vital social and behavioural skills, encouraging independence.
- Work closely with the educational team to track and report on student progress and development.
Requirements of the SEN TA:
- Experience working with children with MLD, ADD, and/or ADHD is essential.
- Strong understanding of the specific challenges faced by students with these needs.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to making a difference in students' lives.
- Excellent communication skills, both with students and the wider school team.
- Ability to manage and support students with challenging behaviour effectively.
- Relevant qualifications in special education, childcare, or a related field (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3) are desirable but not essential.
- A proactive and flexible approach to supporting students.
- Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
