Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of students with SEMH needs?

GSL Education are seeking a diligent and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team in Kensington and Chelsea. In this role, you will assist students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them reach their full potential in a nurturing environment.

Responsibilities of the SEN TA:

  • Support students on a one-on-one basis and in small groups to address their specific learning and behavioural needs.
  • Help deliver tailored educational plans, assisting students with SEMH needs to engage with the curriculum.
  • Promote positive behaviour, providing strategies to improve social and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to monitor student progress and contribute to individual learning plans.
  • Foster an inclusive and encouraging classroom environment that empowers students to thrive.

Requirements of the SEN TA:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH is essential.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH and its impact on learning.
  • Patience, resilience, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in special education, childcare, or a related field (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3) are desirable but not essential.
  • A calm, compassionate, and adaptable approach to working with students.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
