GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic team in Camden. This role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students, helping them overcome challenges and succeed both academically and socially.

Responsibilities of the SEN TA:

  • Offer tailored support to students with SEMH, helping them manage their emotions and behaviour within the classroom.
  • Collaborate with teachers to deliver individualised learning plans that suit each student’s needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage students to engage with the curriculum.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where students feel understood and respected.
  • Track and report on student progress, contributing to their emotional and academic development.

Requirements of the SEN TA:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH is essential.
  • A strong understanding of the challenges SEMH can present to learning and development.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to form positive, supportive relationships with students.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the individual needs of students and provide a tailored approach to support.
  • Relevant qualifications in special education, childcare, or a related field (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3) are desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and with other professionals.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
