The SENCO position:

We are currently working alongside a developed mainstream Primary School in Haringey looking for an experienced SENCO to join their team. This role will be full time and will start in the new year in September 2024.

Are you passionate about inspiring young people? The schools dedicated team provides a supportive network and helps their staff to feel encouraged to flourish in their inclusive community.

The SENCO position is a key role in overseeing the provision for children with special educational needs and various disabilities. The position is likely to suit an experienced individual in a similar role, interested in the development of SEN in many forms.

If you would like to coordinate, oversee, and support in the day-to-day operation of this schools SEN policy, get in touch for more details. The school aim to support students and work through team planning and uplifting from the exceptional team you could be apart of.

You will need to hold the National SENCO qualification or be working towards completing the qualification. You will be able to effectively work closely with parent/carers and professionals.

Requirements of a SENCO:

  • Have an excellent knowledge of SEND
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff and parents
  • Be able to contribute to and implement strategic plans for the provision of pupils with EHCP's
  • Have good behaviour management and communication skills.
  • Full QTS qualification QTS (or equivalent) and an undergraduate degree - although this is NOT a teaching position, the correct candidate will be willing to cover if teachers are absent.
  • Someone who can model and disseminate high quality teaching pedagogy and practice to secure consistently good or outstanding teaching and learning for our children
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Someone who will contribute to the wider life at the school.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of our staff team.
  • Innovation and high levels of motivation and eagerness to take a lead.
