Position: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

Role Overview: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their individual learning goals. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a positive and effective learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs
  • Assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Supporting classroom activities and ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Monitoring and recording student progress
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff to develop effective strategies and interventions
  • Promoting independence and confidence in students

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education is desirable
