Milk Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 child with autism at a welcoming primary school in Wood Green, London. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a Year 2 child with autism, ensuring they can access learning in a supportive environment.

  • Assist in implementing personalised learning strategies to help the child engage with the curriculum.

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and follow an individualised education plan (IEP).

  • Support social and emotional development through structured activities and positive reinforcement.

  • Help with sensory regulation and communication strategies tailored to the child's needs.

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere for learning.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children with autism or additional learning needs (voluntary or paid).

  • A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to support children in their learning journey.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with staff and parents.

  • An interest in special education, child development, or psychology is desirable.

  • Previous experience in a school setting is a plus but not essential.
