The School and Role

I'm recruiting on behalf of an excellent Pupil Referral Unit School based in Crystal Palace. They are looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant.

The School seeks to provide a personalised educational experience that identifies and responds to the circumstances and needs of each individual child or young person.  In doing so it enables them to progress academically and become successful learners through the re-engagement of the young person with education.

 They offer young people who are experiencing challenges in mainstream school an intervention Programme to support their mainstream education. They also offer a full curriculum to those young people permanently excluded. This includes a range of academic subjects and vocational learning as appropriate.

The desired Special Needs Teaching Assistant will:

  • Have a passion to teach outside of a mainstream environment, and a commitment to experience the unique opportunities of a special school
  • Have ability to motivate pupils towards high achievement is essential.
  • Have an excellent teamwork, classroom and communication skills
  • Have background in sports
