The school pride themselves on a strong community ethos and dedication to fostering the academic, social, and emotional development of every child.Your new roleWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the Year 1 team, supporting a young boy with severe autism. He is often not in class and running around, you must be able to keep up with his pace. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support, ensuring the child can access the curriculum and thrive in a mainstream classroom setting.About your role as a SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Recording and reporting a student's progress to the teacher.
  • Provide one-to-one support for a Year 1 student with severe autism.
  • Assist in the implementation of the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Support the student in developing social skills and managing sensory needs.
  • Ensure the safety of the student who is prone to running, by maintaining close supervision.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning materials and activities.
  • Monitor and record the student's progress, providing regular feedback to the SENCO and parents.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Establishing a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with students to help them feel safe and enable them to enjoy and learn during their time at school.
  • Promoting students' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being.What you will need to succeed
