Job Overview:Tradewind Education Agency are seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 student with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the child to support their educational development, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 5 student with SEMH needs
  • Support the child in class, helping them engage with the curriculum and stay focused
  • Develop positive relationships with the student, promoting emotional and social well-being
  • Assist with the implementation of behaviour management strategies
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to plan and monitor progress
  • Assist with preparing learning materials and activities

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly SEMH
  • Understanding of SEMH and how it impacts a child's learning and behaviour
  • Ability to provide consistent and empathetic support in a classroom setting
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with the child, staff, and parents
  • A passion for supporting children to achieve their potential
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) is desirable but not essential
